Ryan Hooker (Upminster, Essex) and team-mate Sarah Reader took another fine 4th place at the latest VdeV UK race held at Croft in NorthYorkshire, echoing their previous round at Assen. The 4th place keeps the duo in contention for the title in the VdeV UK Championship which holds its final race on 19th October at the famous Silverstone circuit.
The Yorkshire circuit of Croft and the 3 Hour race proved to be challenging for both the drivers and the cars. As Ryan explained "It is a relatively small circuit with a number of high G-force corners so it is a very physical circuit to drive a sportscar prototype on."
The pair's TFL Racing prepared Juno was certainly proving to be on good form. With the manufacturer's Juno carry out further research on the suspension of their Juno SSE-CN a number of alteration suggestions were made to the team and they proved to be well considered. With the the changes netting a 1 second a lap difference the ever improviong team took a strong 7th on the grid but once more it was to be their race consistency that was to be enviable.
Sarah started the race and put in a solid hour and a half stint before handing over to Ryan in 6th place. Ryan's stint saw him make up a further two places at one point clawing back a 40 second gap from the car in front before over taking and pulling out 44 seconds lead from it!
"Croft was another really solid race for us" said Ryan afterwards. "Again the preparation was flawless and the extra work on the car's suspension from Juno was an excellent leap forward. We've had great consisenty this season and we head to Silverstone 2nd in the Championship and with a real shot at the title. That is an amazing position for us to be in as a new driving pairing in a new team in a new Championship!"
