It was a new circuit to learn as Ryan teamed up with Sam Allpass in the Juno for the VdeV EU round at Lausitz's Eurospeedway. After two days of pefect weather it was all wet for the 6 Hour race. The heavy rain didn't bother Ryan though, on the contrary being well aware how well the Junos run in the rain so could see an advantage and opportunity to make up places from their 15th qualifying position.
Ryan's prophecy was correct and with no less than 6 pace cars in the first two hours, Ryan has been able to make great inroads to take the lead. A sodden Ryan handed over to Sam for his two hour stint during which the rain just kept coming.
Ryan was behind the wheel for the final two hours and was comfortably running in 4th but it was a cruel blow when an electrical porblem with the battery robbed the team of their finish just 3 minutes from the end.
Only in endurance racing, eh?!
Ryan's next race sees him back in VdeV UK action with Sarah Reader when the series takes a jaunt to Assen on 6-7 September.
