All Set For 2011
February 2011
Derrick Collin and Ryan Hooker have signed up with If motorsport for the 2011 season competing in the VdeV Proto Endurance Championship in one of If motorsport’s front running Ligier JS49s.
The pair have competed in the VdeV Championship in the last two years in a Norma. 31 year old Hooker from Essex is exited at the prospects for 2011.
‘We are genuinely looking forward to the 2011 season and working with Bryce Wilson who is the team manager, plus racing himself in a sister car this season and working with the team at If motorsport - hopefully myself and Derrick will do our job in achieving our goals and the ambitions of the team’.
Ryan who is a professional race instructor has his eyes set on winning the Championship ‘I have worked hard on bringing Derrick up to speed which will continue in the 2011 season with the added help of Bryce who has so much experience and knowledge, which I am also looking forward to benefiting from.’
Team principal Bryce Wilson is delighted with the signing ‘It is fantastic to have such a strong pairing in one of our cars. We are passionate about what we do and it is essential to have drivers with the same mind set to be successful. I believe that Derrick and Ryan have what it takes to be front runners and no doubt we will be seeing them on the podium regularly’.
The VdeV Proto Endurance Championship will once again consist of 8 races ranging from 3 to 6 hours in France, Spain and Portugal, with the race season kicking off with a 4 hour race at Jarama, Spain on 27th March 2011.
The pair will have their first outing in the If Ligier JS49 at a test in Albacete, Spain at the end of February.
