VdeV UK 2008 - Top of the Class

October 2008

Silverstone started with a grey cloud but it proved to have a silver lining in the end!

Silverstone VdeVVery sadly, Sarah was unable to drive in the final race due to a severe kidney infection. This was a bitter blow for all the team. Sarah & Ryan have made a superb team this year and it was a cruel turn of fate that Sarah would be unable to compete. Stepping in to save the day, Simon Pullan joined Ryan for the final race of the VdeV UK season with TFL Racing in the Juno SSE-CN.

Qualifying went well with Ryan & Si lining up in 10th, but they were soon sycthing through the field in an action packed 3 hours of racing. Once again the team's preparation and strategy was paying dividends and it was to be another 4th place, one crucial place ahead of Chris Bialan & Graham Fennymore. With some quick mental arithmetic it puts Ryan on equal points at the top of the table to mark a superb end to his VdeV UK season!

"It was a great race" said Ryan, "and my thanks to Simon for stepping in and being a great partner for the event. We were all gutted that Sarah was unable to drive, we're had such a great season together and it made me all the more determined to continue that in the final race.

"The car was very consisent as always - the Juno is seemingly bullet proof! For this week and of course all the season my thanks go to the TFL Racing team for their immense hard work. We finished every race, never out of the top ten and twice on the podium - it's been superb debut year. To finish the season at jointly at the top of the points table is a great feeling. It's a fabulous series which I hope we will see grow and grow, it's an asset to the British motorsports' calendar."

The Silverstone VdeV UK round highlights will be broadcast on Motors TV on Tuesday 4 November at 7pm.

There is little time to celebrate VdeV UK success though as Ryan heads to France this coming weekend to take part in the VdeV EU series alongside Sam Allpass in the Juno once more.
