RYAN HOOKER ON THE PODIUM IN GERMANY

Ryan Hooker & Derrick Collins Take 3rd At The VdeV 8 Hours of Lausitz

Racing driver Ryan Hooker (Upminster, Essex) and driving partner Derrick Collin (North Yorkshire) took a superb 3rd place in last weekend’s VdeV 8 Hour race at Lausitz for their first podium of the season. The podium also marked a first for Derrick, who is making his debut in VdeV this season.

Driving a sports prototype Norma, the pairing ran in 2nd for three hours in a race which remained close from beginning to end in an exciting battle for the podium spots. The 8 hour race marks the longest race of the VdeV season and it tested the endurance limits of the cars and the drivers to the very limit.

“It was a tough race” said Ryan afterwards, “and I have the aches to prove it! but it was a fantastic result. We’ve had podium pace all year but to take 3rd place in the longest and most trying race of the season is really satisfying.”

The next VdeV event will be the 3 Hours of Dijon on 28-30th August.
