RYAN HOOKS UP MORE RACING
Upminster Racing Driver, Ryan Hooker Plans More Racing In 2008
Ryan Hooker (Upminster, Essex) heads to Oulton Park in Cheshire this weekend to take part in the third round of the VdeV UK Championship alongside driving partner Sarah Reader in the TFL Racing Juno sports prototype.
The pairing have had a successful start to their VdeV UK campaign with a 5th and 7th in the opening rounds, in this their first year of driving together in the new VdeV UK Championship. This weekend's race will be a 4 Hour spectacular and Ryan is hoping for a top six finish to add further point to their Championship tally.
"Oulton Park is a super fast circuit" says Ryan, "and one where the Junos can really fly. It will be a tough race and who knows what the English summer will throw into the mix."
To add to his VdeV UK campaign, Ryan is very pleased to announce he will be racing four times in Europe this year, partnering Sam Allpass in his Juno for four rounds of the remaining VdeV EU Championship. The pair drove together in the final two rounds of the same Championship last year and are keen to repeat their solid performances from then. With Sam Allpass's Juno having been upgraded, the two are sure to be in contention when they visit such circuits as Estoril in Portugal and Lausitz in Germany.
A further race to add to Ryan's 2008 calendar is the Uniroyal 25 Hours of Spa, which sees scores of VW Beetles race for over a day at the world famous Belgian circuit on 12-13 July.
"This will be my third 25 Hours of Spa" notes Ryan. "It really is something a little different on the motor sport's calendar but shouldn't be underestimated, it is equally as gruelling as it is fun!"
